Aeronautical Engineer (Rotorcraft) - Lynx airframe experience highly desirable. Position Responsibilities: Responsible to Lynx IPT to assist in the duties as Engineering Authority (EA) for the structure and mechanical systems of Royal Naval and Army Lynx aircraft. This includes:- a.The effective management of resources to provide coherent, in-depth engineering and technical support in maintaining the Lynx airworthiness. b.Assisting Lynx IPT to discharge the responsibilities of an EA as specified above in respect of Lynx components and mechanical systems. c.Identifying, minimising and/or highlighting any engineering matter that may adversely effect the airworthiness or integrity of the aircraft and it’s associated support equipment, maintenance procedures or facilities. d.Liaison with RN and Army units to provide appropriate and focussed engineering support. Maintain liaison with Design Authorities (DAs), DPA and Resident Project Officers (RPOs) or their equivalents at industrial contractors, to assist in ensuring that optimum arrangements are made for the support of equipment for which they are responsible. f.To review, validate and provide financial authorisation for Customer Work Authorisation (CWA) tasks placed on the DA by the EA. g.Technical Support of Lynx STT GSE & tooling & development of new equipment. h.Support of Lynx STT Ground Handling Equipment in general and specifically management of the Mk 7 Lynx Helilift maintenance contract. i.Technical Instructions. Assisting Lynx IPT in the drafting & issue of Urgent Technical Instructions (UTI), Routine Technical Instructions (RTI) in response to Serious Fault Signals (SFS) or other engineering requirements. In liaison with Lynx IPT evaluate the applicability of DA Engineering Instructions to the MoD Lynx fleet and provide advice on the application, engineering processes and procedures to be promulgated in the Special Instruction Technical SI(T). j.Modification and Configuration Control. Assist Lynx IPT in Initiating and authorising DA Design Reviews and evaluating DA modification proposals for formal classification and embodiment. k.Role Equipment Assist Lynx IPT in the management & support of STT role equipment (other than Air Launched Munitions and pyrotechnics).
