PRINCIPLE TASKS:
1.Liase with other authorities at their appropriate level on matters affecting avionics.
2.Assist HICE1/HICE1b in performing the functions within the Islander and A109 EA so as to achieve and sustain, as efficiently, effectively and economically as possible, the safety, capability, availability, maintainability and reliability of Islander, aircraft required to meet the needs of the operating authorities.
3.Assist HICE1/HICE1b in ensuring that the hazards to health or safety inherent in the aircraft, its associated support equipment, maintenance activities, procedures or facilities are correctly identified, minimised and adequately highlighted, as far as is reasonably practicable.
4.Managing and controlling the following activities for avionics systems:
a.Fault investigations (F760/760A) and the maintenance of their associated registers.
b.Registers of engineering instructions such as Servicing Instructions (SI) Technical (UTI’s and RTI’s).
c.Tasking registers of advisory agencies eg RWSG, M&SG
d.Service Modifications (SM) register.
e.Service Radio Instruction Modification (SRIM) register.
f.Publication F765 submissions by external organisations and the maintenance of their associated registers.
g.Update AMDB.
5. Providing specialist advice to HICE1b in the preparation of Servicing
Instructions (SI) Technical and Annex A/B’s as required.
6.Initiating fault investigations and providing specialist assistance to inquirers investigating major incidents or accidents.
7.Assist HICE1/HICE1b in preparing avionics modifications arising from Service
engineering requirements.
8.Assist HICE1/HICE1b in seeking independent airworthiness advice for
modifications which affect the characteristics, handling or operation of an aircraft
9.Assessing in conjunction with HICE1, HICE1b the MA Release implications of modifications that would affect the aircraft’s characteristics, handling or operation and recommending amendments for approval by the appropriate authority
10.Assist HICE1/HICE1b in ensuring that the configuration of the aircraft and
their associated support equipment are properly controlled and recorded
11.Providing specialist technical advice to staffs at MOD, Customer 1 and
Customer 2.
12.Provide assistance as tasked to MOD staffs and contract branches in the
assessment and evaluation of tenders.
13.Producing reports and returns as required.
14.To attend relevant meetings on behalf of HICIPT as required.
15.To amend all Technical Publications held by the HICE1 area and to inform
HICE1 team of amendments carried out and their implications.
16.Maintain the Safety case database and the Hazard log as advised by HICE1/HICE1b.
17.To act as secretariat at meetings when required, also send out Call in Notices
for LTCs, TAMs etc.
a.Support to IPTL [complete as appropriate]
(1) As required.
b.Support to IPTL through HIC Business Manager:
(1)To assist HICE1/HICE1b in providing monthly Financial Forecasts.
(2)To assist HICE1/HICE1b in providing annual Short-Term Plan costs and assumptions.
(3)To assist HICE1/HICEIb in ensuring all Requests for Contract Action (RCA) are supported by a Business case, and where appropriate Investment Appraisal, that will stand up to scrutiny.
(4)To assist HICE1/HICE1b in monitoring activity levels against contracts owned by HICE1, ensuring that activity is affordable within both annual Budget and Contract Financial Value. Raising RCA when contract adjustment is required.
Maximum 27 week contract basic 37 hours per week starting approximately Monday 20th October 2008.
