Leading sports management specialists, Mike Burton, are looking for someone to secure and manage all of the group travel services for major sporting tours and professional rugby teams. The role of Group Travel Manager for Mike Burton and England Rugby Travel, Mike Burton’s joint venture business with the Rugby Football Union, is a phenomenal opportunity for an experienced and confident travel professional. The role has a vital place in the business so it’s essential the candidate has an excellent travel pedigree as well as a high level of interpersonal skills and is ready to take on a challenge working on some of the world’s biggest sporting events. Main Duties include: Ensuring the Group Travel department sources the most competitive and efficient routes for group services in line with company wide sales and budgets Effective management of the negotiation of rates for hotel and flight requirements Developing and managing effective relationships with key organisations such as the RFU’s England Rugby Teams (of all levels including seniors) and Premiership Rugby Clubs such as Gloucester, Worcester and Bristol Responsible for adhering to the terms and conditions of group supplier contracts and overseeing payments At an event or on tour, take managerial responsibility for the delivery of group travel services Management of the five-strong Group Travel department
