Our client is an established organisation specialising in manufacturing and engineering sports cars. Due to continued expansion, we are now recruiting for a Production Buyer to join their highly skilled and motivated team in Woking on a permanent basis Principal accountabilities for position Identification and nomination of key suppliers for future vehicle programmes Full commercial responsibility for a range of components & suppliers Identification and selection of strategic supply partnerships Plan, negotiate and develop multi-year / multi-platform supplier contract agreements Build and develop robust supplier partnerships, creating an environment which promotes a proactive and joint approach to cost down activities, via optimised manufacturing and process improvement techniques Capability to discuss, influence and implement cost effective production solutions against available technical data Minimise stock obsolescence, over stocking and financial exposure Presentation of commercial & supply chain data to Management and Senior Executives Knowledge, skills and experience for position Experienced Purchasing Professional with a min of 3 – 5 years experience within the selected category, preferably within a manufacturing or automotive background Demonstrable commercial achievements, based upon structured plans of implementation and execution Strong negotiation, communication, networking and leadership skills are essential Excellent analytical ability with a strong focus on detail and accuracy A working knowledge of supplier selection and implementation, preferably from areas of low cost manufacturing Business or equivalent degree (CIPS preferred) Experience of contract development and contract management Good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, in particular excel Personal attributes / behavioural skills for position Hard working, ambitious and self motivated. Working well under own initiative when necessary as well
