XL Airways has a requirement to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic Temporary Crewing Controller to cover maternity leave. This position will be based at Gatwick or the head office in Crawley. This is a shift position normally working a 2 Day, 2 Night, and 4 off shift pattern which may vary depending on operational requirements. This also includes a float pattern to cover leave and sickness. The main function of the role is to manage day to day crew rosters and roster disruption in a cost effective and efficient way. Reporting to the Crewing and Pre ops Executive the Crewing controller will be responsible for the following: ·To ensure that all crew are scheduled according to both CAP 371 and Company policy. ·To perform legality checks on crew rosters. ·To ensure flights are crewed with an appropriate crew complement in accordance with Company requirements. ·To be responsible for Crew check-in/check-out. ·To ensure Crew resources are utilised in a cost effective and efficient manner. ·To record crew roster amendments accurately. SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: ·Working knowledge of CAP371 and Flight Time Limitations ·Knowledge of JAR Ops and other CAA legislation ·Operational and Commercial awareness ·Computer literate and a working knowledge of crew management systems ·Good interpersonal and communication skills ·Ability to problem solve and prioritise workloads ·Ability to work within a team environment and as an individual to tight deadlines Crewing/operations experience would be advantageous however not essential.
