Job description

My client an expanding Global Media company are seeking to recruit an experienced Web Designer to join their team. This is a new position working on a large Global £220m project. This project is working on the redevelopment and on-going improvement of the site - Currently around 200,000 visits a day.

You will be involved in producing guidelines for the development team for web design, investigating customer journeys through the site, identifying best practice in site layout and ensuring compliance with web accessibility standards. This is a pure front end design position which will require who can come up with new ideas and identifying new and emerging technologies.

Candidates will have similar experience of the above ideally coming from a large organisation delivering customer related websites with the following skills:

Sound knowledge of SEO, analysis of web analytics and of on-line, real-time transactional web-sites. Preferred technical background is Java, MySQL and Linux.
Be able to show a current knowledge of Web 2.0 developments, and to demonstrate working, practical knowledge of the application of relevant accessibility standards.
Someone who can reference existing sites for which they have design responsibility
Be process driven, good time management skills, good interpersonal skills and produce high quality documentation.
HTML, CSS, JSP preferable, Front end designer who is a team player with excellent communication skills.
